MEMBERSHIP TYPES AVAILABLE



Professional Membership: £60

This membership level is for people who make a full or partial living from the UK theatre, entertainment and conference industry as Sound Designers/Sound Engineers  including the design, installation, repair, servicing, preperation and operation of sound systems, the recording of sound effects, the teaching/mentoring of these activities or as a manager/technician in the theatre.

We ask applicants to provide evidence of your work, such as a CV or list of credits. We would expect this to show, for example, evidence of long-term employment, whether on one production, at a venue or institution; OR at least 3 short-term professional engagements within the last year. If you feel you belong to this category but these criteria exclude you, please email us and we’ll be happy to discuss your application.

Future Professional Membership: £30

This membership level is for over-18’s who are starting off in the industry, whether without any training, or who are students, apprentices or trainees. 

We ask applicants to provide evidence of how you entering the industry; OR a copy of your student ID, apprenticeship acceptance letter. If you feel you belong to this category but these criteria exclude you, please email us and we’ll be happy to discuss your application.

Future Professional membership is limited to five years. For the purpose of general meetings, Future Professional Membership is a non voting membership category.

Associate Membership: £60

This category is open to anyone and there are no entrance criteria. For the purpose of general meetings, Associate Membership is a non voting membership category.

Corporate Membership: £650 (up to 10 employees)

This category is open to all companies who work within the theatre sound industry. For the purpose of general meetings, Corporate membership is a non-voting membership category.

Non-Commercial Organisation Membership: £150

This category is open to all non-commercial organisations working in the theatre sound industry, to include educational institutes, theatre sound departments and other professional associations. For the purpose of general meetings, NCO membership is a non-voting membership category.
