Introduction to Field Recording and Microphone Techniques for Sound Design

As part of our AGM day we are inviting members to this exciting seminar 

In this seminar Matthew Tuckey will provide an introduction to field recording techniques that form a significant part of his sound design practice.

We will look at some accessible approaches to recording ambiences in the field and a range of technical solutions to various challenges encountered when recording in the outdoors.

We will also look at some more specialist techniques that Matthew has used in his sound design and sound artist practice for alternative perspectives.


About Matthew 

Matthew is a Sound Designer and Sound Artist working across theatre, music, installation, podcast and film. He is also a board member for the Association for Sound Design and Production.

Recent theatre credits include, as sound designer: Dogs on the Metro, Champion, Saint Maud (Live Theatre); The Bounds (Live Theatre and The Royal Court). As associate sound designer: Macbeth(English Touring Theatre at the Lyric Hammersmith);Underdog: The Other Other Brontë (Northern Stage and National Theare).
