MAX MSP

with Sarah Angliss

online

Friday 28th April

11am - 2pm

In this user-friendly beginner’s guide, Sarah Angliss introduces you to Max and gives you an overview of why it was created and how it can bring something entirely new to anyone’s soundworld. Originating in IRCAM, Paris, Max is extraordinarily powerful software that enables you to do everything from playing a simple sound file to designing your own real-time effects, sensate sound and video sculptures and machine-learning-enriched audio tools. It can also be integrated with Ableton Live. Max’s new variant RNBO can even be exported as portable code - enabling you to make your own VSTs or to run Max-like routines on a Raspberry Pi. Step by step, Sarah goes through how to get started in Max and shows you how much you can achieve, even if you’re a complete beginner - no coding experience required!

Sarah Angliss is a composer, sound designer and robotic artist. Her original sound and music has been used in theatre, film, gallery installations and in her own live concert performances. In 2021 she received the Ivor Novello Visionary Award for her body of work.
