Mixing for Musicals

with Roisine Mamdani and Ian Dickinson

Join Ian and Roisine as they walk Zoe Milton through how the mix for Company was created.

Not a member, but would like to come to this seminar? Don't worry! Winter School is open to Association Members, Educators, Young Future Professionals and Students, email us letting us know which category you fit into and we'll let you know the booking code.

We all have a pretty good idea of how a fader works, but how often have you watched a mix and thought 'what happened there?' Well now you can find out!

This discussion will be a mixture of recorded footage and explanation. Roisine and Ian will show us sections of Company, then explain how they finalised the mix, what led up to the decisions, what influenced their choices and how they dealt with the challenges of live theatre mixing night after night!

Roisine Mamdani is a No1 sound engineer with years of experience and a long list of fabulous shows in her CV.

Ian Dickinson (Dicko) joined the Autograph design team in 2009 after a long period as head of sound at The Royal Court. In 2013 Ian won the Olivier Award for Best Sound Design for his work on The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. Recently Ian has been providing the crowd noise for football matches up and down the country!

Please email us in advance if you have any questions for Ian and Roisine
