Robert Donnelly-Jackson is a freelance Sound Designer, Engineer & Operator.

He's currently taking on several freelance roles which allowed him to reconnect with the wider industry network.

He had the privilege to spend the last two years working as Head of Sound at RADA, where he was responsible for multiple strands of work. The role was expansive in charge of; programming the course, budget, learning, future learning, maintenance and upgrade of technology and infrastructure.It included supervision of multiple spaces (storage, amp rooms, tech op positions etc) and 3 separate recording studio spaces.

Robert spent 2.5 years working at the University of Surrey as an AV Supervisor. He gained an insight into the design and planning of large-scale buildings with specific technology needs. Here he was responsible for running a team of 4 technicians involved in 1st line maintenance and support. He also enjoyed liaising with System Design teams and Integrators across a site of more than 300 rooms at point of 1st and 2nd fix to prove design concept as well as fault find systems

He spent 10 years as Senior Technician at the National Theatre on over 100 productions on UK tour & in the West End. Other technician work has been as No1 Audio Mix and Op on the CBeebies Christmas Panto '21, Mix Engineer at a number of Festivals including How The Light Gets In ’21, and worked full time for Barbican Theatre, the Royal Exchange and Royal Court Theatres. He has Production Sound Engineered national tours such as The Wipers Times & Prism, the History Boys and Habit of Art. Robert Has worked on high profile events across the globe including Sound and Video Engineer for Michael Clark Dance, Chagall at Lattitude Festival (FOH Mix), Harshdeep Kaur at Manchester International Festival (Monitors), Labour Live (FOH Mix) Sound Op at 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games, also 100’s of commercial events for White Light, Tate Modern, National Theatre of Scotland, Tube Sound.
